⭐Welcome Dr. Maurice Feldman, Distinguished Professor at Brock University (Ontario, Canada), to our department for lectures and academic exchange, where he presents his team’s latest research findings on the Parent Intervention for Children At-risk for Autism (PICARA)!

⭐Research project titled “Development of a Psychological Intervention and Child Development Tracking System” by team member Yufan Zhou, Tianyue Dong, Jiyang Wen and Zhenyang Guo has been funded by the “2026 College Student Innovation Training Program (University-Level)”.

⭐Research project titled “Mathematics Anxiety and Its Development in Early Elementary School Children” by team member Feiyang Zhang, Yufan Zhou, Zihao Lin, ALEXANDER FENGTAO HUANG and Xinhang Jiang has been funded by the “2025 College Student Innovation Training Program (University-Level)”.

⭐In June 2025, Xi Yao and Bingqing Zhao attend “2025 Conference of the Mathematical Cognition and Learning Society” in Hong Kong. Xi Yao gives an oral talk titled “Non-Verbal Number Systems Do Not Predict Children’s Early Number Learning”, which uses longitudinal data from infancy to preschool to examine whether children acquire initial number words based on two types of nonsymbolic quantity systems. Bingqing Zhao presents a poster titled “Examining the psychometric properties of non-symbolic and symbolic number comparison tasks”, testing the reliability of classical experimental paradigms in the field of numerical cognition in psychology and offering a new alternative approach.

⭐From November 29 to December 1, 2024, Xiaoyun Jiang attends the 17th Annual Academic Conference of the Developmental Psychology Professional Committee of the Chinese Psychological Society in Zhejiang Province and presents a poster titled “The Relationship Between Symbolic Precise and Approximate Calculation in Children Aged 3 to 6”.

⭐On June 19, 2024, Di Zhu from the School of Media and Communication at Shanghai Jiao Tong University and Yi Mou from the Department of Psychology at Sun Yat-sen University are invited to give a lecture on adolescent mobile phone use at Shunde No.1 High School (Southwest School).Click for more

⭐From November 10 to 12, 2023, Bingqing Zhao attends the 16th Annual Academic Conference of the Developmental Psychology Professional Committee of the Chinese Psychological Society at the Suiyuan Campus of Nanjing Normal University and presents a poster titled “A Developmental Study of the SNARC Effect for Positive and Negative Numbers”.

⭐On October 15, 2023, Xi Yao attends the 25th National Academic Conference of Psychology in Chengdu and gives an oral talk titled “The Relationship Between Parental Mathematics Anxiety and Home Numeracy Activities”.

⭐Research project titled “Cognitive Development of Numerical Abilities in Infants” by Yi Mou has been funded as a “General Project of the Guangdong Provincial Philosophy and Social Sciences Planning (2020)”.

⭐Research project titled “A Meta-Analytic Examination of the Reliability of Infant Psychology Research” by Yixia Mai, Xiaoli Guo, Fan Sun and Yin Tong has been funded by the “2019 College Student Innovation Training Program (University-Level)” from the course “Research on Child Cognitive Neurodevelopment”.

⭐Research project titled “Integrating the History of Mathematics into Elementary Mathematics Education” by team members Shiting Chen, Huilan Xiao, Yixi Zhang(Department of Anthropology), Ruoxi Chen and Yuhan Cai has been funded as a “Key Project” under the “2019 Sun Yat-sen University Laboratory Open Fund”.

⭐Research project titled “The Development of Mathematical Cognition in Children Aged 3 to 5 with Autism Spectrum Disorder” by team members Heze Li, Qin Liu, Mengting Liu, Jiaxi Li (School of Atmospheric Sciences) and Yihan Li has been funded as a “General Project” under the “2019 Sun Yat-sen University Laboratory Open Fund”.

⭐Research project titled “The Cognitive and Neural Mechanisms of Children’s Fraction Learning” by Yi Mou has been funded as a “General Project” under the “Open Fund of the State Key Laboratory of Brain and Cognitive Neuroscience, Beijing Normal University (2019)”.
